POLICIES

GETTING AQUAINTED WITH YOU
On your first visit we will ask you for personal data and health information. This information is designed to help us complete insurance forms or other correspondence required. Your medical history will often have an impact on your dental treatment. Please keep us updated on any changes.

APPOINTMENT SCHEDULING
The time scheduled for your appointment is reserved specifically for you. We respect your time by providing prompt efficient personal treatment. Occassionaly, however, there may be delays due to emergencies. You will be promptly notified in such circumstances and we appreciate your understanding. Similiarly, we ask that you respect our time. Should you need to reschedule your appointment, please call our office as soon as possible. A fee may be charged if we are given less than 24 hours notice.

EMERGENCIES
In the event of a dental emergency, we will make every effort to see you as promptly as we can, usually that very day. Please call us as early in the day as possible. After hours, please call the office for recorded instructions.

CONTINUED CARE
We believe in prevention as the cornerstone of good oral health. We therefore encourage annual dental examinations and prophylaxis (cleanings) every 3 to 6 months tailored to individual needs. This program in conjunction with thorough home care will result in optimal oral health and a minimum of future problems.

CONSULTATION
In cases that may require more extensive dental treatment, a consultation will be provided free of charge. We will go over the diagnosis and present optimal treatment and alternatives as well as fee estimates and payment options. Our goal will be to arrive at the treatment plan that best suits your dental needs, desires and financial situations.

FINANCIAL POLICY
In an effort to hold down billing fees, payment is expected at the time of service. If you have dental insurance, we will estimate your benefit and collect your patient portion when treatment is rendered. We will bill your insurance carrier and reconcile your account after the carrier pays. Pre treatment estimates may be required by insurance for more extensive work (eg. crowns, bridges or periodontal treatment). The estimated patient portion is due upon commemcement of treatment. Please remember that we try to maximize your insurance benefits, but dental insurance is a contract between the patient and the insurance company. The patient is financially responsible for the treatment rendered. We are currently participating in Delta Dental and BC/BS of RI. We also can arrange for low interest extended financing over several months if that is more convenient for you.

STATE-OF-THE-ART DENTISTRY
In our office, we are committed to providing you with the most up to date treatment. All members of our team regularly attend continuing education to keep abreast of the many changes occuring in dental treatment. We employ state of the art equipment and use the highest quality materials. Of the many procedures we provide, we have found implants and cosmetic dentistry to be the most rewarding to both us and the patient. If you are unhappy about the appearance of your teeth, please inform us, so that we can show you the ways that we can improve your smile.

STERILIZATION
We want you to know that your protection is of utmost importance to us. This office follows rigorous sterilization procedures including the autoclaving of all hand pieces. We adhere to the ADA & CDC guidelines. We welcome your questions on our infection control program.
